Maiko is a multi-media artist who creates digital compositions to conventional paintings.
Translating light, depth and geometry found in both nature and built environment to an image on a flat surface compels her to keep creating. Many years practicing in fine art and architectural design, her work displays a solid spatial understanding with complex color palette. Maiko earned BFA and MArch from Parsons School of Design in NYC. She is biodegradability conscious and passionate about recycling. She likes talented artists, strong women, kind people, babies, pasta, sushi, gardening, dance culture, interior design, and farmhouse style woodworks. She has two young daughters, one goofy husband, one tiny poodle, one miniature schnauzer, a few Japanese relatives and a whole bunch of Italian-American in-laws. She lives and practices in Montclair, New Jersey.
